This was inspired by covid confinement. I am often told I look like my mother so I decided to do a double exposure to see if that is true. We were both in our mid-thirties in the images of us. The one of my mother is a photo I took of a portrait of her painted by her brother. I converted it to black and white. The one of me is a photo taken of me for the Baltimore Sun. I took a photo of it. I merged them.
This is from my North Carolina mountains visit last October, the composition was processed shortly after and ready to publish, but was forgotten. Fortunately, I found it while planning my 2021 trip – coming up next week. It was captured from the Fryingpan Mountain Lookout Tower near Pisgah Mountain on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The tower’s stairwell was blocked at the base, but I was able to squeeze through and overcome my fear of heights to climb to just under the top platform. I was rewarded with an amazing South Fork Mills River Valley landscape and dramatic light!
Cheers,
C. S.

Yes, sometimes they can ruin a picture. But, I know these three very well and they are always great company. We were attending a formal occasion (the British ambassador was in attendance )to celebrate the Caledonian Society of Norways 75th anniversary. I say formal however there was also a great deal of fun as can be seen here. A great night was had by all.
