I was starting to go stir crazy from being snow and ice bound so I took a ride. I found this paddock on a back road in Harford County, Maryland. Usually occupied by horses it was eerily quiet due to the snow.

I have begun the process of releasing my husband’s ashes into bodies of water he knew and loved. This one was done in Ocean City, Maryland on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. I etched some words and a heart into wet sand and sprinkled some ashes in the heart. One of his nicknames for me was “rosebud” so I placed some there as well. Then I waited for the surf to take them out to sea.
