This unique old barn was found on the back roads of Watauga County near Sweetwater, North Carolina. The stone foundation supports one side of the barn’s placement on the edge of a hill. The vine consuming the façade appeared to have died, leaving a thick, craggily branching structure attached to the barn. These two curious horses cooperated with my attempt to compose and interesting photo during an expedition of the North Fork New River area of Ashe County, North Carolina. I shot this at 110 mm with my Nikkor Z 70-200mm f2.8 lens.
Back in 2015 I found this gem on the backroads of Forsyth County, near Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I must have gotten busy and never got around to reviewing and processing. By accident, I came across it again a few weeks ago. I’m sure there are other forgotten treasures in my catalog. If only I had more time for treasure hunting!
I cleaned up and swept my barn, installed new lamps and renewed all the electrical cables. I think the barn has never been so clean !!! Looks like a modern and fashionable living room. But wait until the planer and circular saw are back in place …
