Strong But Fading

These daffodils have been confused by the weather. Temperatures far too warm caused them to bloom too soon. Then they were beaten down by the rain, buffeted by the wind, and chilled by the snow, yet still they brought beauty to our home.

Let the Madness Begin!

Not much time to shoot this week as I’ve been totally caught up in NCAA Basketball! My ACC Team is the Virginia Tech Hokies, and while the men went out on Wednesday night, the Women won the ACC Tournament! Pretty exciting actually. The Men won in 2022 and the Women in 2023.

Go Hokies!!!

Just FYI – my “other” team is from the WCC – The Gonzaga Bulldogs. I’m pretty sure that I was the only one in that Coliseum with Gonzaga earrings on ūüôā

The El Dorado is a cooperative apartment building at 300 Central Park West between 90th and 91st Streets adjacent to Central Park on the Upper West Side in Manhattan, NYC.  It was constructed from 1929 to 1931 and was designed by Margon & Holder and consulting architect Emery Roth in the Art Deco style. The El Dorado is 30 stories tall, with twin towers rising from a 19-story base. The building is a contributing property to the Central Park West Historic District, is listed on National Register of Historic Places, and is a New Yrk City designated Landmark.

Suburban Wetland

Before heading back to the mountains of Southwest Virginia, I took a short walk on the Virginia Capital Trail. The Cap Trail is a 51.7 multi-use, fully-paved trail that runs from the City of Richmond, Virginia to James City County, near Williamsburg, Virginina. The goal is to add a 7 mile connector to the restored area of Colonial Williamsburg, as well as the College of William and Mary.

Part of the trail runs through a suburban wetland. Please follow the link for more information about the importance of preserving these spaces.

Shooting the Photographer

I am out of town, helping to care for my father who has been in hospital. This image was taken of me by a friend a few weeks ago. Even thought it is not my work, I thought I’d share it since I’ve not been able to do any shooting. I mean, how often does the photographer get photographed?
