Røros: House

Black And White Photography, David, Photography

One of the streets in Røros takes you onto the persevered slag heaps in fact, this is the last house as you walk up the street. I’m not actually sure if it was a house or had some other function.

Combining two hobbies

Black And White Photography, David, Photography

In this case my cycling passion and my photography passion. This is one of the older buildings in Røros. All wood, and grass roof. Røros is on the UNESCO’s world heritige list.

Well worth a visit.. Beautiful in the winter too

The Atlantic Coastal Road

Black And White Photography, David, Photography

This few kilometres of road are quite the tourist attraction. It been used in films and car commercials here in Europe on many occasions. My wife and I chose to cycle it in both directions on what turned out to be a very calm and warm day. Which, given the fact that this road is literally “out to sea” was quite unusual.

Røros

The town of Røsos known as Bergstaden was a copper mining town from 1644 and since 1980 has been on Unesco’s World heritage site list.Røros and its people were made famous to Norwegians at the turn of the 20th century by semi-fictional author
Johan Falkberget who told the story of the mining community from the perspective of the hard-tested miners at the bottom of the social ladder.

There was a crooked house II

Black And White Photography, David, Photography

This shot was from closer up. It’s very contrasty because the sun was quite strong. It kind of gives it a charred look.

There was a Crooked house

Just over the bridge from last weeks shot I found this old farmhouse which time, the wind and snow, had worked away at for many years. The whole place was leaning over.

Big Silver Moose

Black And White Photography, David, Photography

Probably the worlds biggest at over 10 mtr.’s.There is always an argument going on with the Canadians other who has the biggest one. I don’t really care but it makes a nice motif.
