It was a good day to die.  I was at peace.  I was taking in the beauty of my God’s creation, and tying to capture it in some way. 

I didn’t die, of course.  Thank heavens!  But I certainly was at peace and one with the landscape. 

This  is just outside a small village in Northumberland which is known for its gin production of all things!

On site and afterwards online, ! was unable to determine the story behind this abandoned building in Thunderbolt, Georgia, near the Wilmington River. Nevertheless, I thought it was kinda cool.

Exposed

A recent hike along the Gooseberry River in Minnesota led me to this tree. During high water, the soil is washed away from the base of the trees and exposes the elaborate root systems of the cedar trees.
