I’d not even been off the plane but a few minutes when I asked my friend to pull over so I could see the Gulf of Mexico up close. Then I saw the patterns in the sand from the waves. Oh how wonderful are the works of nature.

One of the best parts of living by the inland sea of Lake Superior is the effect of wind on the lake. When the wind blows strong out of the east/northeast, you get big waves along the shore in Duluth, MN. Although the waves are exciting to watch, they can also be very destructive. The city is still repairing damage from storms that took place over five years ago.
