I’ve spent the last week visiting the Grand Canyon. It’s my first visit and I’m stunned by the beauty. But, the canyon itself is not the only thing worth photographing. There are snippets of other scenery that catch the eye if one is looking at anything besides the canyon.

In an article published on my blog, I explore why the black-and-white visual language is still relevant for photography in the contemporary era. In the article, you will also find a review of the relevant literature and a selection of images from major Italian photographers of the last century. Feedback and comments are welcome!

There are those moments when you just feel you have to take the shot. Like on this full moon night in Genoa last week. I woke up from the full moon blazing through our bedroom window. So I grabbed the iPhone 14 Pro and clicked. In the middle of the night. Another perfect moment for monochrome photography
