Wedding
Black And White Photography, David, Photography
My Summer holiday this year was bookended by two weddings. This is a shot from the 2nd wedding . The Bridesmaids were sat waiting for the Bride. So I squeezed in a couple of shots this being one of the best.

Into the Light
Black And White Photography, PhotographyGrand Central Station, New York City
Grand Central holds the promise of so many photographic opportunities. I loved spending time there with Joe, Terry, Laurie, and Robyn before making our way to meet Patti in Central Park!
There wasn’t an abundance of sunlight in the terminal while we were there, but then I saw this beautiful shaft of light appear. I quickly positioned myself by the staircase, exposed for the highlights, and waited for the “right” person to walk into it. I was not disappointed.

The Back of the House

It must be the contrarian in me, but I found the back of the Bellamy-Ferriday House to be more interesting than the formal front that normally gets more attention. The front is where “company” would have been shown into the house; the work is done ’round back. Besides, at this time of day the light was much more interesting.
Of course this doesn’t mean that I might not photograph the front some other time; I’m leaving my options open. I think this would be good advice if I was in the advice business or if anyone ever asked me. “Don’t just look at the front, explore and keep your options open”. Not that anyone asked me.
The Bellamy-Ferriday House and Gardens is open to the public for a nominal fee and is located at 9 Main Street North, Bethlehem, CT 0675.

Life in Motion
Black And White Photography, Photography
A long exposure, using the railing as a tripod, at Grand Central Terminal in NYC. There is so much activity in the terminal and life moves at a very quick pace. I wanted to capture the ghost like appearances of people as they arrive at the terminal and then exit just as quickly.

Scent Of A Rose
Alakajay, Black And White Photography, PhotographyWhile testing an old manual Canon 55mm f/1.2 lens on a recently acquired Sony Nex-5T, my first foray into mirror less cameras, this rose in our garden seemed the only color around on a gloomy fall evening here on Long Island. I think the lens did a good wide open and manual photography brings me great joy specially shooting in monochrome.
