The Prague skyline
Black And White Photography, Pavel, Photography

The tiny living quarters of one of the windmills. Small but cosy.
It was a frigid, 5 degree morning in Detroit, but I had to see the RiverWalk.
More of my images can be seen on my own blog.
On the morning I went out to shoot some photos of ice, I slipped on ice next to my truck as I was loading my camera bag. I landed on my stainless steel coffee mug, which hit me right around the left kidney. Ouch! I managed to make out and grab a few shots before going home to recover with an ice pack.

For once I used just my phone to capture this photo of Molly, aka Doggy Dog, aka Daddy’s beautiful girl, aka Gorgeous, aka Silly Billy Doggy! Conversion to black and white carried out by Snapseed.

Sometimes the best camera is the one in your pocket — Molly photographed on the phone, converted to black and white in Snapseed. Portrait photography works in monochrome because it strips the background of its colour, leaving only the quality of light on the subject and the expression. Molly’s eyes do all the work.
