As fall progresses, most people are out taking gorgeous fall color photos and I’m no exception. However, I believe there is also beauty to be found with bare trees. Under the right lighting, the contrast, shadows and form combine to create stark landscapes. Where I live, we have a lot of birch trees, which are favorite of mine for autumn and winter photography.

Statues in the snow outside Gustav Vigeland’s museum in Oslo. I walk past these three once a month or so they always look like they are giving me cheek as I walk past. I took this on Thursday evening the thaw seems to be setting in now so they were a little easier to take a picture of.

A few years ago I was attending a course at the Chicago Booth school of business. The hotel I stayed at was on the Magnificent Mile right next to the NBC tower. It was the warmest day on record for a few years and the sky just cried out polarised filter to me. However I only had my iPhone 4 with me the rest I did in post..

Turing metal bridgework on it’s side for a somewhat different perspective on the construction.
