Swords in the Rock

Black And White Photography, David, Photography

One of Norways must see tourist attractions. Located in Sola just outside Stavanger on the shores of Hafrsfjord it was the sight of a famous Viking battle in the 800’s.

The popularity of this site also makes it difficult to photograph without loads of tourists getting in the way…There are several behind the swords in this shot which I think I timed well not get them in the shot.

Naturally Abstract

Sometimes you just have to look around and see what nature is painting on the landscape. I came across this vision as I walked along the shore of a lake in South Dakota.

Little girl looking at candles in a church, asking herself which wishes haven been asked for when lighting the candles.
Wishes | Avignon | 2025

My heart beats Street Photography. I’m always looking to capture life as it happens. Like this little girl looking at votive candles in Cathédrale Notre-Dame des Doms d’Avignon. Amazed by the magic light, maybe asking herself what wishes have been associated with those candles. A monochrome shot taken today with my iPhone using the dark black&white mode.

They’re all at it!! Window on the World, aka Selfie Heaven, Shenzhen, China, X100F

They’re all at it — a collective ritual at Window on the World, Shenzhen, X100F. The repeating gesture — phone raised, screen glowing — turns into a pattern rather than individual portraits. The X100F is unobtrusive in these situations: small, unassuming, easily mistaken for a tourist compact. Monochrome turns the colourful crowd into a graphic study in repeated behaviour.
