Here is another image from Martha Rohl’s New York Unfiltered photo exhibition.  I couldn’t resist taking this shot because every picture this adorable little girl’s mom moved to it seemed the Little Art Critic would point something out that caught her eye.  Thank you so much Pamela for allowing me to feature this image on our site 😀

I find it difficult to ignore patterns, textures and light-play when looking for potential photographs. Add a small dose of mystery and I’m hooked.

I’m not quite sure why the owners of this restaurant chose to fence it off from the sidewalk. Was it to keep patrons from leaving without paying? Or, perhaps it’s a case of not wanting to have their tables and chairs stolen; in that case it’s like closing the gate when the horse is already gone.

Pentax K5IIs with 15mm lens. The challenge here was getting everything lined up to my satisfaction, made more difficult by the wide lens.

Yes next week it’ll be the 17th of May, National Day. For one day the whole of Norway is in party mood. Parades, National dress, ice cream, marching bands, and waving royalty, the whole works. It’s always fun to watch with everyone in their finery.

So Think of Norway on the 17th, and maybe raise a glass to celebrate with us.
