The Wounded

This picture was taken during German Army training march,
where the soldiers are faced with different and randomized types of combat situations.
The situation here was this, grenade impact (terrible loud), finding a wounded person,
giving first aid, controlled by two military physicians, who had to score the work.
So it looks more cruel than it was, I took the picture in the moment
she (medical staff sergeant) was acting to collapse.

That Moment

I called this post “That Moment” I actually call the picture “Emily Laughs.”

Let me explain. Some of you may have read my blog already. If not here is a story. The Nikon D700 had just hit the market. A mate had one and it was the “all-singing-all-dancing” camera at that time. I nearly purchased one. I just happened to start reading about Leica and the M6. That’s what I wanted my dream camera from the 80’s. I then found out they had a new Leica MP an all manual do it yourself total contrast to the Nikon. What I knew best then was film. I chose the Leica. Then the feelings of “Have I done the right thing?” started to worm their way into my head. To make a long story short when I saw this picture, It was that moment I knew I had made the right choice.

A Night at the Movies

Still test driving my friend’s Nikon D7000, I couldn’t resist putting the camera through its paces when I walked by my local movie theater late one weekday evening. I was drawn to the nearly deserted lobby, and of course, all the lines, curves, and shadows and the brightly lit signs. I loved the possibilities this scene held for a black and white conversion. The result? More love for the D7000!
