Late afternoon in the neighborhood known as Little Italy. “Authentic” Italian restaurants line either side of the street. My father lunched at one that stated on the menu it was John Gotti’s favorite restaurant.

High praise, indeed!

“Don’t carry a gun. It’s nice to have them close by, but don’t carry them. You might get arrested.”

I have returned for my holidays which were spent in the UK. This was on of the first shots out of my camera taken in Winchester high street. I was so attracted to the two mannequins in the shop window. The way they seem to be pompously judging the shopper taking a rest on the bench outside that this shot leaped out at me.

He opened the door and a woman stood there on the porch with anxious eyes.

May I help you? Says the man.

Oh… I just want to see Eric.

Eric? There is no Eric in here

No Eric… ? Are you sure? Damn…

Of course I am…

She said nothing more, took two steps back and, just before he closed the door, he seen the depth of the inevitability in her face.

There was nothing to add. Nothing more to say. She had already thought of this possibility but wouldn’t believe it. What she feared the most in the last 6 years was now a reality….

If you come to Quebec city, don’t forget to take the city tour by horse and carriage, by night or at sunset, it could be one of your best memories from this old garrison-walled city.

Oh! also, don’t forget to call me if you need a private city guide. It will be be real pleasure, there are beautiful terraces and good wine.

There is always a back door for each restaurant and those are often looking spooky compared to the front one. It reminds me of gangster movies with famous back door escape.
