The Maritime Heritage Center is home port of the Tall Ship Providence (which sadly was not there when I was). Providence serves as a floating classroom, educates visitors on the role that the Continental Navy played in the American Revolution, and showcases Alexandria’s history as a port city.

The snow has melted, the ground is thawing and the ghost of winter is released from the frozen earth.

An experimental piece done using the multiple exposure setting in camera and processed in Silver Efex Pro.

Waiting for the scooters to cross the road. Foshan, China, X100F

Waiting at a Foshan crossing — the patient street photographer’s natural moment. The scooters and figures create a layered scene that monochrome simplifies into a clear visual hierarchy. The X100F’s fixed lens means you work with your feet, finding the frame through position rather than focal length.
