Built in 1928, the Swan House was purchased by the Atlanta Historical Society in 1966. Most of its original furnishings, ranging from 18th-century antiques to 20th-century objects opened to the public in 1967 as a house museum and headquarters of the Atlanta Historical Society.

Chief Raymond Downey Memorial 5k Run

On father’s day of every year the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department hosts the Chief Raymond Downey Memorial 5k run. Chief Raymond Downey of the FDNY was among the 343 other fallen FDNY hero’s that were killed on September 11th 2001 at ground zero in the Twin Towers attack.

Flowing Water and Buzzing Mosquitos

It would have been a better morning to be enjoying the solitude of the forest and the sound of the small waterfall, however, the mosquitos considered the solo photographer a tasty breakfast meal.
