I find the New England states in the North East of the US most attractive in the fall months. Our recent trip up to Newport unfortunately turned up soggy and not the best weather for enjoying fall foliage. However, Newport for me, never fails to enthrall no matter what time of the year maybe bar summer when the traffic just gets to me.

Come on, don’t tell me I have to explain the title to you? A Volkswagen Beetle? This and the Volkswagen van held sway as the modes of transportation in the sixties. That and your thumb. And then to find one with flowers growing out of the trunk or boot? (And yes, it was a rear engine car.) So, on a totally different note, today is election day in the States. Or, as we call it at our house, the end of the world as we know it!
