There’s something magical about playing with reflections.  When I took this photo, I knew I would be manipulating it to get this effect and I’m very pleased with the end result.  For me, the combination of the reflection of the statue and the grid work of the conservatory roof plus the texture of the bubbling water all come together to make the image successful.

This is a deteriorating bucket from an old water well.  Its fascinating what people had to do years ago for a basic necessity.

Brooklyn Winter Flea Market

My wife and I had last Saturday off from work and whilst looking for something to do indoors on a blistering cold winter morning with windchills driving down the temperature into the single digits we found ourselves at what was the old Williamsburgh Savings Bank Tower in Brooklyn.
What a treat it was considering the unique architecture of this iconic building. Completed in the late 1920’s in a modernised Byzantine-Romanesque style with 63 foot vaulted ceilings this place could have been a church!
Considering I was heading to a flea market I did not carry any of my Nikon’s and as the old saying goes the best camera is the one you have with you, I used my Google Pixel for this shot.

Angel’s Landing

According to the park website, “about 5 people” have died due to falls from Angels Landing in the 100 years since the park was established. About 5? Yeah, maybe last week! This is the most dangerous hike I have ever attempted. Hanging off the side of a cliff by a chain while trying to find a foothold is not my idea of fun.

Only five deaths?
