The Hallgrímskirkja Church plaza minimalist layout, patterned paving stones, sparse benches, and low walls, was chosen intentionally to echo Iceland’s natural landscape: vast, unadorned, yet full of quiet power. Beneath the surface lies a carefully engineered heating system that melts snow in winter, keeping the space accessible year-round.

I attended a Burns night supper last week. Here my friend Peter is holding what is know as the immortal memory speech. The whole idea for the evening is a celebration of Robert Burns, his life and works.
