After experiencing another laptop crash, I went looking for some files in the hope they had not been lost. The files are intact and in the process of searching, I came across this image taken with my Nikon FM film camera for a class project. I believe the goal was to emulate another image, at which this mostly fails, but I still like the image for it’s odd composition.

The benefit of living in a place for years is that you get to see the same places under many different circumstances as the light changes with the seasons.
I’ve watched this pond with its surrounding trees as I have driven by countless times, but it was this particular time when the bare branches revealed what I hadn’t seen before; the two trees at the far end reaching out to touch each other. Too much? What do we really know about trees?

They do say “The best camera is the one you have with you at the time”. This was taken on a Canon powershot G9. I loved those G cameras.
