Netly Marsh Steam Rally 2008

Netley Marsh Steam Rally. A beautiful hot summers day and lots of old steam driven traction engines. Heaven for a photohound.

They do say “The best camera is the one you have with you at the time”. This was taken on a Canon powershot G9. I loved those G cameras.

I just love old steam driven traction engines. I offer this up for your entertainment.

An afterthought with this shot…You spend a fortune on camera and glass, and turn the shot into a pencil drawing…I must be mad 😉

Just a little something more from the steam fair. I used Analog Efex pro 2 in post. The original was shot using my Leica M9P.

Psst.. You can see a colour version here.

A little HDR shot with the help of HDR Efex Pro 2. Taken from about the same vantage point as the shot I posted last week. The steam parade begins with this beautiful lorry. Restored to better than new condition.

You can see some  shots in colour from previous years on my Flickr account here

“Yeah …. I’ve got  ::cling cling::  fsssss steam heat”

How many of you hummed that song as you read those words?  Or, sadly, how many of you have never heard of that 1954 song from The Pajama Game soundtrack?
