Kalaloch Tree Cave
Black And White Photography
Along the Pacific Ocean on the Olympic Peninsula, you will find the majestic Kalaloch Tree Cave. This majestic tree seems to defy gravity by doing the splits over a runoff channel that has exposed it’s root. Despite the harsh environment the tree is doing quite well. I however, got a bit wet trying to take this shot. It was raining and I was crouching in the surf to get a better angle. A wave snuck up behind me and almost swamped me and the camera. I managed to get away with a wet foot and a good laugh. If you look closely you can see the rain drops in the picture. You can see more from my Olympic Peninsula reboot trip on the blog. Among the many sights and sounds of New York City I found these bronze primates for sale outside a storefront so I brought them home by capturing them on my Nikon.

Celebration Of Life
Black And White Photography, Emilio, PhotographySince at least 1100 A.D., the Southern Paiute lived across southeastern Nevada and neighboring states. To survive the desert, they drank from springs, hunted wild game and harvested plants.
Today, the Southern Paiutes operate the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort. In addition, the Moapa Paiute Travel Plaza with its 2,500-square-foot casino and fireworks store greets visitors on their way to Valley of Fire State Park.
The Moapa Paiutes also are developing the first large-scale solar project on tribal land, which will provide tribal revenue and jobs.
