This is a heavily visited attactraction in a national park about an hours drive from our house. Although it looks really oldies not that ancient really; it was built with stones from the beach in 1932.

I had to do a fair bit of photoshopping to remove the people but the end result looks ok to me.

Back! With New Gear!

Black And White Photography, Laurie, Photography

This is my first post since being out of commission these last 2 months.  I’m now 2 weeks out from surgery and getting back to health.  Big Thanks to Joe for covering for me!  I’m also thankful to Joe for helping me purchase my new Fuji X-T3.  I have literally taken 8 clicks of the shutter and have much to explore about this new camera.  So excited!

MOMA Stairwell

One of my favorite places to photograph is museums. Every time I went to MOMA NEW YORK, I would watch the activity at this cut out in the wall where you could see people going up or down between floors. I tried for a very long time, and this particular day, I got what I wanted.

Sunset On The Colorado

Towards the end of what is now being called phase 1 of the Covid-19 pandemic, we had to travel from our home in Las Vegas NV to Des Moines IA with a chihuahua who has a broken front leg. We had intended to camp in our car, but all the national park- and most of the state park- campsites were closed. So we had to find motels that would allow pets. I can tell you that I was not looking forward to the trip but everything fell perfectly into place and we remain, for the moment, as healthy as when we started out. In Denver Colorado, while we were having dinner on the outdoor patio of a restaurant, a group of several hundred protesters escorted by police, marched past on their way to the capitol two blocks away.

This shot at sunset on the Colorado River was taken in Kearney Nebraska on our way back home.
