Disdain

Black And White Photography, Cheryl, Photography

I was out searching for people moving in and out of shafts of light and was not having any luck. Just as I was about to give up he walked in front of me and the light highlighted his face. He saw me but I didn’t care.

I drove past this part of my neighborhood a few days ago and was reminded of this shot I took in 2011. I originally processed it in a sepia tone and converted it to black and white for Monochromia. On a Sunday morning as daylight was breaking my husband parked the car sideways in the street to block it as I set my tripod up on the traffic line. Everything was damp from a brief shower moments before. Flower petals everywhere. I’ll never forget it.
