Watching the Bears
Black And White Photography, David, Photography
Ref: last weeks post. This is what I meant when I said I feel sorry for the bears. Having to perform for food (I’m sure they get fed otherwise). It just feels a little off to me.

Bear
Black And White Photography, David, Photography
We have bears in the woods in Norway. However it’s a lot safer to see them at a safari park. There in lies my personal dilema, I feel so sorry for the Bears. They turn up on time for feeding and hundreds of people gather to watch. Don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t want to meet a bear on the trail. But if I did it would no doubt be just as scared as me…Hopefully.
Oslo Opera House
Black And White Photography, C.S. Young Jr., Photography
Home of the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, the Norwegian architectural firm Snøhetta won the design competition to build a new opera house in the city. Completed in 2007, the Opera House won the World Architecture Festival in Barcelona in October 2008 award.
The building resembles a glacier flowing into the Oslofjord inlet. The white granite structure invites pedestrians to walk up and enjoy a panoramic view of Oslo from the roof. The strong lines and angular shape were an architectural photographer’s dream.

Akershus Fortress is a medieval castle in the Norwegian capital Oslo that was built to protect and provide a royal residence for the city. Construction is believed to have begun in in the late 1290s by King Haakon V. For centuries, the fortress withstood numerous Swedish led sieges. It did surrender without conflict to the Nazis in 1940.

Swords in the Rock
Black And White Photography, David, Photography
One of Norways must see tourist attractions. Located in Sola just outside Stavanger on the shores of Hafrsfjord it was the sight of a famous Viking battle in the 800’s.
The popularity of this site also makes it difficult to photograph without loads of tourists getting in the way…There are several behind the swords in this shot which I think I timed well not get them in the shot.
