While visiting the colorful city island of Burano near Venice, Italy, I noted this composition taken from Fondamenta S Mauro looking into an entrance to Calle Dei Squeri, or “street of the boatyard. In Italian, “squeri” (plural of “squero”) refers to small boatyards, especially those where expert craftsmen build and repair wooden boats, particularly gondolas. My trip to Italy, France, and Spain was in October of 2022. I’m not sure if I’ll ever finish curating the approximately 4,000 resulting images!

I was going to show a shot from this year’s St.Patricks day parade. However all the trains were cancelled and we didn´t get into the city. Sorry. Next year.
However as a substitute I took this of a Squirrel visiting our bird feeder instead.
