Architectural abstract from a rooftop in Hogsmeade in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. On this family trip, I finally got around to shooting RAW files on my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, my first attempt at processing raw files from my phone in Lightroom. Doesn’t match the quality of my Nikon Z8, but fits nicely in my pocket on a 3D coaster ride!
Cheers,

This is an image that was shot with my Nikon FM, then developed using Cinestill 96 at home. I scanned the negative with my Fujifilm GFX 100s using a Loawa 100mm 2X Macro lens. The sculpture is located in Duluth, MN. I had issues with the film not rolling properly on the developing spools and lost all but a dozen images out of two rolls of 36 exposures. The survivors had interesting artifacts as part of the issues.
I often go in search of abstract patterns in ice but, when the ice is gone, I find other sources of natural art. On a recent trip to the St. Louis River where it flows through Jay Cooke State Park in Minnesota, I happened upon patterns created by the swirling foam. Being white foam on dark water, the patterns are naturally monochromatic.
