My name is Ingrid and I was born in Auvergne, France. I have lived in Munich since 2010…A place where I feel happiest with my husband and two girls.
I received my first camera as I was 12 years old …But the real spark was in 2006… when I become a mother. My children gave me a new way to see my life, people and things around me. My gaze was becoming at the same time delicate and strong.
The light and the composition is very more important in my photographs. I try to show some melancholy, like an “happy sadness” in shapes and shadows. In my opinion black and white images are the best way to express those feelings ! A lot of photographers are inspirational to me but Vivian Maier is my reference.
I hope I could share with you some emotions…

I want to get serious for a moment and describe what happened to me over the weekend. We were out taking photos and I found a deserted barn. I went inside and started to set up, checking out angles and lighting and found a spot that was perfect for what I wanted to capture. I brought the camera up to my eye and, at that moment, another photographer entered into my field of vision, started moving objects around to better create his “image”, and completely ignored me. What? Have you no respect for others? Are you so self absorbed that you do not see anybody else? Do you make a habit of walking into someone else’s shot whenever you like? These are rhetorical questions but, people, please be aware of your surroundings. Your photo is no more important than mine and will wait for you. Be respectful of others, be aware of your surroundings. A few weekends ago I was out taking landscape photos and walked towards a deserted house. As I was walking, a car pulled up and I stopped to wait while the woman took a photo with her phone, then waved to me, and backed up her car. I took my few shots from different angles and distances and, when I left, she was down the road a bit waiting for me to finish up. Respect is always reciprocal.

I have returned for my holidays which were spent in the UK. This was on of the first shots out of my camera taken in Winchester high street. I was so attracted to the two mannequins in the shop window. The way they seem to be pompously judging the shopper taking a rest on the bench outside that this shot leaped out at me.

This was the sky that met me as I left the beach on the bike a couple weeks ago. Even though the rain threatened (and eventually soaked me), I could not resist stopping to take the shot.
Looking south to Lower Manhattan
(Scheduled post) My last aerial view of lower Manhattan was from the Top of the Rock Observation Deck on the 70th floor of the GE Building in Rockefeller Center. This view is from the 86th Floor Observation Deck of the Empire State Building. In the distance is One World Trade Center (Freedom Tower); at 6:00 is the triangular Flatiron Building, bordered by Broadway on the left and 5th Avenue on the right, with Madison Square Park (at the bottom of the frame) just a block away.
