The Face of Crazy Horse

Black And White Photography, David Jensen, Photography

On my recent trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota I had the opportunity to go up to the work site at the Crazy Horse Memorial. At this time, the most complete feature of the sculpture is the face. work is on going on the pointing hand and it will be several generations before the memorial is completed. When it is finished, it will stand as the largest sculpture on the planet.

The Basin

the basin-1

This image was made this spring during a workshop I led. Rain added to the runoff so the Basin along Rt. 93 in NH. was getting quite full. Shooting waterfalls is fun but can be kind of hairy when the water is flowing rapidly. this location is quite safe however.

Post 4th of July

In honor of 4th of July

For me the 4th of July used to be a much more colorful and joyous day. I miss those times when things weren’t so dark, when our country was more hopeful.

This shot is yet another from the hospital. According to my records taken with my Nikon F4s and my trusty Nikon 20mm AIS. As the film was colour (Kodak 400asa) it was mini-lab developed ,and I scanned the negs at home with my Epson V700. It’s grainy but I think it just adds to this shot.
