Bridge Architectural Abstract

John T Alsop Bridge Abstract 1
John T Alsop Bridge Abstract 1

Opened in 1941, the Main St. Bridge crosses the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida.  It was renamed in 1957 after former Mayor John T. Alsop and remains a feature of the Jacksonville skyline.  The center span lifts to allow large boats to pass under.  I shot this at 170mm to achieve a compressed architectural abstract feel.  For the best viewing experience, click to view a high-resolution version.
