Pirate On My Pack

20150506-untitled shoot

It my seem like a childish thing to have on my backpack. However he has hung there for many years now . The pack he hangs around on is the pack I use on my bike commute most mornings in the summer and a few in the winter. My other passion besides family, and photography is cycling. I purchased this little chap at Legoland many years ago as a reminder of my favourite cyclist Marco Pantani. Who sadly is no longer with us.

I took this shot in window light using my Hipstamatic app on my iPhone.

This photo is about 25 years old (analog for sure), I took it at a friend’s backyard in South France. The family had just come from the beach and Marieanne was hanging up their beach towels.  I do not remember if I really saw the print on the towel at this moment, or if I had my focus on other things.  Well it was long ago … & I was 25 years younger !
PS. I know, no nudes here, it´s just a towel !!!

Sunday “Spont”

Ash Meadows

Ash Meadows

My wife and I have a habit of just getting in the car and driving. We call it being “spont” – short hand for spontaneous. One Sunday we ended up at the Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in the Mojave Desert, approximately 90 miles northwest of Las Vegas NV. It is a wetlands in the middle of the desert. They have unique species and a unique ecology. The Ash Meadows Amargosa pupfish, lives in these waters that warm up to 92 degrees and the pupfish can survive in water only a half-inch deep. They survive in all sorts of difficult conditions, but ultimately they still need water.
