20181013-untitledshoot-5-edit

I cropped this shot quite high to remove the crowds. It was a very wet Saturday and the place was packed to the gills. I really wanted to go to the pub. I was three hours into a 4,5 hour guided tour and was wet through, cold and a little cheesed-off. Still I got off a few shots of which this is one. It makes my eyes go funny if I look at it too long…it looks like a big funnel.

The Laocoön 2018

Black And White Photography, Cyndie, Photography

As a punishment, Athena sent two giant sea serpents to strangle and kill Laocoön and his two sons; the agony can be seen in his eyes.  We were lucky enough to see the work of  the Fabio Viale as it was installed, for the very first time, at the Glyptothek Museum in Munich this past year. There was beauty in every inch of this sculpture.
