The Best Of Monochromia – Laurie Buchwald – The Morning After

Black And White Photography, Laurie, Photography

I purposely saved Laurie for the last of our Main Contributors.  I have been following Laurie’s photoblog for the longest out of anyone (and she has been following mine for the same time).  Laurie is one of the busiest people I know and even though I have known her for the longest time we have never met. I’m going to try and change that sometime this year 🙂

When I first asked Laurie to join Monochromia or I should say this idea I had (we still didn’t decide on a name yet) she also was kind of hesitant because like Stacy she was a little unsure of her work (she had not done much black and white at all).  I quickly learned that Laurie was just “sandbagging” all of us (for those people not familiar with the term sandbagging it means purposely holding back, LOL).  Her images can stand up with the best of them.  I love her work and I can also proudly call Laurie my friend – Joe

Ice Fishing

icefishing

A week ago I saw these two fishermen out at the sea and was admiring their courage since the ice had already started to melt. I suppose they know the sea and sense whether the ice can still carry them or not. A serene view I thought, and something so meditative about fishing.

When I took this photo, there was about 4 feet of fresh snow on the ground
Currently we are buried in over 5 feet of this white stuff
and it keeps coming and coming.
Lucky us here in Massachusetts
we seem to have hit the jackpot this winter.

33 days until Spring!
