I have been intrigued with Japanese Gardens and now convinced that I will create one, of course in a much smaller scale, on one side of our home. This Shinto Shrine can be seen overlooking the beautifully landscaped Japanese Hill and Pond Garden at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Constructed a century ago way back in 1914, it happens to be the first Japanese Garden to be created in an American public space.

This as regular readers of Monochromia will notice is my daughter taking part in this years student parade. It’s tradition to stay up all night following up to the parade and party hard. Oh to be young again :0)

Classified as endangered, these magnificent cats can be still seen in the wild in Sri Lanka with an estimated population of no more than 250. This particular cat was photographed by me almost a year ago at the Pinnawela Open Air Zoo in Sri Lanka on a typical hot humid day.
