Haunting
Black And White Photography, PhotographyThis is a shot from our recent trip to Southern Illinois to visit family. I do not know that this house is haunted, but periodically there is a light on when the house is otherwise vacant and well on it’s way to dilapidation. There was definitely an eery aura when standing on the front lawn and I felt as though I was being watched.

Almost Surreal
Black And White Photography, Elina, PhotographyCliff Jumping
Black And White Photography, PhotographyI had a two week vacation in Hawaii this summer. I remember cliff jumping in Kona last time I was there so I went back to the same place to see if I could get some good shots of the locals. In typical island style the locals were all really nice to me, especially when they realized that I would send the pics that I took. I’ve always been a sucker for silhouettes so when the sun started to set I was able to get some great shots. This almost looks like three shots stitched together but it’s actually three different guys getting ready to jump. You can see more of my shots from Hawaii over on SMB-Photo.com.

Night Moves
Black And White Photography, Patti, PhotographyBlack and white with bright lights of mayhem on a Saturday night in NYC when girls on a night out get caught in the fun of the NYPD holding back the protesting crowd at nearby Times Square.
What’s not to love about girls prepared for action – leather, denim, leopard spots, hair, attitude and cameras!
Shades
Black And White Photography, Charly, PhotographyThe shadows are so important in a picture as solid elements that have been photographed, and that’s why you have to see them and look.

Love in Grand Central Station
Black And White Photography, PhotographyGrand Central Station in New York City is a font of photo ops (though I wish tripod use was allowed!). Spending time there with fellow Monochromians Joe Giordano and Patti Fogarty was worlds of fun. And in the midst of all my “oohing” and “aahing,” I spied this couple posing for what I figured was engagement photos. Of course, I just had to get in on the action!
