The meaning of the red tulip in the Victorian Language of Flowers is “Declaration of Love”.
Enjoying some quiet time running above the fog and clouds in the Santa Monica mountains. Even in LA you can easily escape the hustle and bustle of the city and clear your head.

A tribute to Joe !
Nothing on or in this picture is real, exept the record, what was originally a very old Rolling Stones single ( Angie ).
The wooden surface / table was not there and the cover is the first Monochromania image I made. Meanwhile or up to now I made 25 and it was very hard to decide which one to post . ( For Joe, I am still in doubt )

What a pain to get this shot, just for Monochromia. In case you didn’t know, everyone including their mother and uncle wants to get a shot of this sign when they’re visiting Las Vegas. What’s worse is the plethora (that’s a real word- look it up) of brides and grooms having their photos taken in full wedding regalia every day, every hour. I tell you if I got married in Las Vegas I’d find something better to do than go visit the Welcome sign right after saying “I do”! Why, I’d rather go back to the hotel room and- you know- consummate the marriage or something. And don’t think it was easy trying to find a couple of hours in the middle of the night when I could get out there and paint “Monochromia” over the words “Las Vegas” for this shot. Joe, I should get hazard pay, or something.
OK, OK, Joerg Thamer actually changed the sign from “Las Vegas” to “Monochromia” in processing for me. But I like my story better. As Joe Giordano says of Joerg, “God I wish I had his talent.”

Those of you who have followed me these past few years, know about my love for these 35 year old fire fighting boots. When I dropped them off at the Cobbler’s shop for repair, I saw that the shelves were loaded down with shoes and boots of every style. In our throw away society, it is reassuring to know that others have a love for old boots and shoes, and that a third generation cobbler has the skill to restore these treasures.
