An iconic landmark on the St. Petersburg skyline, the Peter and Paul Fortress harks back to the early sixteenth century. In this image I attempted to recapture the building’s historical nature with some grain and a slight blue colour cast.

I’m a sucker for farm animals. Especially the friendly, curious ones like this who had learned that people would offer an apple core or a scratch on the head. HOw could they not?

My other big pastime is cycling I took this on a visit to the Lee Valley Velodrome in London. I even got to cycle around it for an hour. One of the bucket list.

This image was made awhile ago and I just came across it. I was out shooting with an intern on assignment for the group of newspapers I worked for at the time as a Photo Editor. I was teaching this intern about light and how B&W can be such a powerful tool. This tree had white bark that could not be ignored. I had the Leica M-P 240 and the 50mm Summilux with me and worked on this composition knowing that I would convert to B&W since the only real color was the sky. The texture on the tree just popped once it was converted.
