My beloved boots needed repairing, and this time the job needed to be done right. Fortunately, a third generation cobbler opened a little shop not far from my home. I’ll share a photo of the shoes and boots on the shelves another time. This time, it’s all about the shadows.

Black And White Photography, Laurie“Yeah …. I’ve got ::cling cling:: fsssss steam heat”
How many of you hummed that song as you read those words? Or, sadly, how many of you have never heard of that 1954 song from The Pajama Game soundtrack?

And Then I Look Up
Black And White Photography, LaurieGlass on Glass
Black And White Photography, Laurie, PhotographyAfter hours of preparation, I found a few quiet moments before the event began to wander around the room shooting the scene. I kept coming back to the bar. The light from the window was bright on the glasses that would soon be filled with the delectable Divatini.

Just Not Feelin’ It
Black And White Photography, Laurie, PhotographyThe last of the Thanksgiving guests had gone, two days of parties were over (oh my what a fabulous holiday!) and it was time to revisit the Monochromia post that I’d scheduled over 2 weeks ago. As I looked at it, I knew … I just wasn’t feeling it and a change had to be made.
I sat at my desk and stared out the window and pondered the situation. The last three day’s photography efforts were all about family and friends. Copious amounts of food and drink had left me contentedly sluggish. What to do, what to do?
So there you have it. The view from my chair.
I’m thankful for a holiday that celebrates gratitude … and thankful, too, for the opportunity to be a part of Monochromia.
Sycamore #2, and Geese, too
Black And White Photography, Laurie, PhotographyTaken the same morning as the previous image, but the mist is rising higher in this one, and the geese are much more visible. I wish you could have heard all the calls they were making.
