Be Amazed In The Middle Of Nowhere

Black And White Photography, Photography

We were biking all around the small isle of Noirmoutier on the west coast of France.
It was such a lovely day.
We were surrounded by nature.
The sun followed us.
And our laughter echoed in the landscape.

I hope everyone is fine and had great holidays and summer :’)

Window’s View An Amsterdam’s McDonalds

Black And White Photography, Photography

It was a rainy day, on the biggest shopping street in Amsterdam.
It was a rainy day and we were really hungry when it was time for lunch.
It was a rainy day when we entered in a really nice, light and sophisticated restaurant…
It was a rainy day but people didn’t care and continued to spend great time.
it was a rainy day and I watched these people who were walking on the street, opened an umbrella, ride a bike, who were speaking, who were buying everything they wanted…
And I was eating and it was so pleasant to see the street change through the time.

What are you looking at ?

Black And White Photography, Photography

I slowly followed a cute snail who just wanted eat a flower a few meters away, but I constantly took him back on his way to photograph him and he was looking at me as if he was saying “What are you looking at ?  I’m not famous guy, let me eat quietly” haha 🐌

When The Merry-Go-Round Is Illuminated…

Black And White Photography, Photography

This is a simple photo, right ?
Actually I took this picture on a beautiful day, when the sky was blue, without clouds. This Merry-Go-Round was quite deserted, without children, light, magic in the air. So I choose to edit my picture, make it in black and white to give a nostalgic effect and  “switch on the lights ” for more cheerfulness 🙂

I really love the result ! Hope you too.
If you want to see the original picture go on the ABFriday week 37 of Stacy ! :’)

Far Far Away …

Black And White Photography, Photography

I spent my New Year by the sea and walked during a long time on the beach.
It was so pleasant !

Oh chère mer,
Vois-tu le trou béant ?
Oui, là où se trouvait mon cœur.

Il n’y reste qu’un goût amer,
Laissé par mon tendre Océan,
Qui s’en est allé, me voila en pleure.

Oh dear sea
You see the gaping hole?
Yes, where my heart was.

There remains a bitter taste
Leave by my tender Ocean
Who is gone, here me crying.

A bird arrives … Then immediately leaves..!

Mésanges

These two images compliment each other. I like the fact that on the first one the bird arrives and on the second the bird leaves. The bird came back so quickly, when she realized she did not take the time to eat .. !
I love little birds and I observe them everyday and photograph them with a lot of patience. :’)
I hope you like them !

Time goes by

Black And White Photography, Photography

time goes bye

Le temps passe

Tout le monde arrive
Tout le monde repart
Tel des rapaces

Ils ne me voient pas
L’horloge tourne
Les minutes défilent

Mais moi je reste là
A regarder le temps
Assise sur mon banc

Depuis maintenant 21 ans
Je ne sais plus
Si je vis dans le présent.

Time goes by

Everyone arrives
Everyone is back
Such as raptors

They don’t see me
The clock isn’t ticking
The minutes scroll

But me I stay here
To watch time
Sitting on my bench

Already for 21 years
I don’t know
If I live in the present.

In this image we are in Greenwich, London. This was taken this past summer and it was one of the only photos I took.
I wrote a little “poem” to accompany my photo. I tried my best to translate it in English but it does not rhyme with the translation.

Guest Post – Anne-Cécile Gohier’

It gives me great pleasure to introduce this talented young lady who is interested in photography at such a young age. She originally discovered Monochromia by following one of our Main Contributors Elina. I hope you enjoy this post and future posts by Anne-Cécile Gohier’

Meow (1 of 1)

Hello, my name is Anne-Cécile Gohier’, and I grew up in France in the pretty town of “Maine et Loire”. I’m a young lady who is sixteen years old and I am absolutely in love with books, it’s sort of my escape. I also like drawing very much, and of course photography is a part of my life now. I think I caught the photography bug from my father who also enjoys taking pictures.

On Christmas day of 2013 I received my first camera. I am still in the process of learning every day and my camera comes with me everywhere in all my travels, it’s like my best friend (don’t tell anyone but I even named him “Charlie” haha).

I love all kinds of photography, especially landscapes and nature, but my cats are my most faithful models. I am in harmony with nature, I love to hear birds, the wind in the trees and the activity of the city far away. One day I went to the park in my town early to take some pictures and I noticed three baby deer on my way, it was wonderful to be there and be part of nature even if it only lasted a short time. I love to photograph moments like these. I have a lot to learn and I realize its a constant learning process, as I said, photography is a part of me now.

I had never really approached photography from a purely black and white perspective but it interests me more and more every day. I think of it as new door opening for me.

I would like to say thank you to everyone involved with this blog and I can definitely see myself appreciating black and white more and more.
