This image seems appropriate as I sit at my computer an watch the blizzard outside my window. With winds gusting to 65 MPH and blinding snow, I glad was able to arrive home safe this afternoon. At times the visibility was less than 100 feet which made driving dangerous. Hopefully things will be better by the time I have to venture out tomorrow morning.

Although I took over 100 images for this event, this is my favorite of all. I love the look on the young racer’s face and the adult is obviously having a good time also.

Considering how this winter is shaping up for those of us in the northern hemisphere, I can’t help wondering if nature is giving us a big middle finger. Stay warm and keep those shovels handy. Oh, and Happy New Year!

Just looking at this image gives me chills. An icy cliff face at Gooseberry Falls State Park on a typical northern Minnesota winter day. Temps in the mid-teens, wind gusts around 30mph, waves crashing on the rocks and snow blowing off the cliff.
