Dogs & Beds, two things that fit perfectly together, they love it warm and soft.
Like dogs and “Supermarket paper bags”, there is always something interesting inside. I came home yesterday from the supermarket, where I bought some “human food” for “me”, I left the paper bag on the stairs just to open the door and did not look at it for two seconds, the dogs around me, when I turned to pick up the bag, the dogs were gone and a packet of Frankfurter sausages was also gone … Opportunity makes thieves !
When playing with the remnants of my holiday bouquet it didn’t appeal to me to simply photograph dead flowers, so I employed the double exposure function on my Nikon D810. I used various manual settings to adjust the exposure for the effect I wanted. I then converted the image to black and white using Topaz Labs. What do you think? I like the effect of the pine cone hiding behind a sheer screen and the added texture of the Lily leaf adds another dimension – almost making it abstract.
On a separate note, for those of you who truly love black and white photography I highly recommend subscribing to the on-line magazine – BWGallerist. I think you’ll find the articles both interesting and inspiring.
Happy New Year!

The Bellagio Hotel and Casino on the strip in Las Vegas is known for it’s fountains that are choreographed to piped in music. They dance every 20 minutes or so. They have become almost iconographic in that every Tom, Dick, and Harriet has to take a photo with their phone. (Does any body use a phone to talk anymore? I mostly text.) Anyway, I did take a couple or twenty shots of the fountains this night but found this image much more satisfying. Hope you do, too!

May each of your days in 2015 be filled with this kind of happiness.
