As fall progresses, most people are out  taking gorgeous fall color photos and I’m no exception.  However, I believe there is also beauty to be found with bare trees.  Under the right lighting, the contrast, shadows and form combine to create stark landscapes.  Where I live, we have a lot of birch trees, which are favorite of mine for autumn and winter photography.

After my last post “Looking Down” crop circles were mentioned.  As a matter of fact, I did see some.  And, I may have found Pac Man.

Certain things make a road trip better.  There is always seeing new and beautiful places, exploring small towns and meeting people from other places.  Finding delicious comfort food along the way is always an added bonus.  for your information, the pies were fresh, and they were delicious.

One of the apps on my iPhone is meant for HDR, however I have learned that if I move the phone while it is capturing the three shots for bracketing, it provides a multiple exposure effect.  One never knows what will happen.  In this instance, we are standing at the edge of a lake with waves crashing over our feet as I captured the three images.  Other than a bit of clean-up in Adobe Lightroom, it is what it is.

As the sun slowly fades into the west I bid farewell to yet another year with fondness and gratitude for your company and support here on Monochromia.

Grateful thanks as ever to Joe for not only starting up the enterprise but more importantly for keeping it going with more than a modicum of ease and class.

Season’s greetings to one and all!

(Did this year just fly by or what?)
