Dalmation

Fujifilm X-T1 and Fujinon XF 60mm f/2.4 R Macro Lens – 1/1100 @ f/2.4 – ISO 200

While taking some Autumn leaf photos in the park recently I noticed this woman walking two Dalmatians.  Being I am a dog lover I had to stop her and play with the dogs before taking a photo of one of them.  This little girl is 10 years old.

Lambs Ear

LambsEarTwo (1 of 1)

 Sony RX100 Mk 1 (compact camera) in macro mode – 1/100 @ f/4.5

To me photography is not always about beautiful scenic landscape images.  It’s about simple every day things. What attracted me to the leaf of this Lambs Ear plant was the shape of it.  It looks like it was sticking it’s tongue out at me 🙂

Goodbye

Nikon D610 and Nikkor 24-85mm AF-S G VR lens – 1/250 @ f/5.6 – ISO 400

“Fallen Fireman”

Rest now my fallen brother
Lay soft your suffering back
Rest well and forever
Your memory shall not lack
Rest your tired hands
Wipe clean your weary brow
Rest with St. Florian
Your spirit now endowed
Rest here your breaking heart
We know you gave your all
Rest easy, you’ve done your part
You’ve answered your last call
Rest knowing that in god we sought
Oh lord, watch over another who just fell
Rest assured your troubled thought
As we ring the final bell.

Side Light

Sidelit

Nikon D610 and Nikkor 180mm f/2.8 IF-ED AF-D lens – 1/800 @ f/4.0

I have always liked photographing side lit objects for the increased texture and exaggerated shadows.

Divide

Nikon D610 and Nikkor 180mm f/2.8 IF-ED AF-D lens – 1/160 @ f/4 – ISO 800

“The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends, and where the other begins?”

Sweetness !

Crossing

Fujifilm X-T1 and Fujinon XF 55-200 R OIS Lens – 1/480 @ f/4.8 – ISO 200

I was sitting on a bench in East Hampton, Long Island waiting for my wife to finish shopping and I saw this little girls father reach out to grab her hand before crossing the street.  It was such a sweet moment I had to capture it.

Tools Of The Trade

CoffeeCup

Fujifilm X-T1 and Fujinon XF 35mm f/1.4 R Lens – 1/9 @ f/2.8 – ISO 200

This is an old porcelain coated metal coffee cup sitting on a boat builders desk.  It seemed like this was part of his toolkit. I loved the way the porcelain is worn off the handle from use.

UrbEx

Nikon D610 and Nikon 24-85mm AF-S G VR Lens – 1/6 @ f/4.5 – 85mm – ISO 400

This is about the closest I can get to going inside one of these abandoned buildings.  This was shot through a broken window at Kings Park Psychiatric Facility on Long Island, New York.
