Goðafoss waterfall is in northern Iceland near Akureyri. Local legend claims the waterfall got it’s name (waterfall of the gods) around 999 AD when the country made Christianity the official religion, afterwards which statues or Norse gods were thrown into the waterfall.
Cheers!

We like this barren landscape in Northern Iceland. Nicely photographed with this grey sky.
Christianity was never subtle.

Outstanding image and history Sam 👍🏻 I love the way you have been incorporating people into your images. It looks like pretty rocky terrain to walk on.
