Roadside Atraction © Steven Willard
It’s the kind of scene most people drive by without a glance, but I can’t resist stopping to make a few exposures. I’m drawn to the textures of such images, and the breadth of tones. Dead tree, Ruined house © Steven Willard
The tree just gave up and died, the house is for sale and will likely be torn down; it sits an a beautiful piece of land between Woodbury and Washington, Connecticut. The tree will be removed to make way for a much grander house. I’m not sure which affects me more.
I wrote about the house on my personal blog here https://stevenwillardimages.wordpress.com.

Leftovers, Woodbury, Connecticut
Cleaning up around the place and happened upon these remains from last year. I thought about rearranging them, but in the end I simply made a couple of exposures which I tried to develop to look like a platinum/palladium print using Snapseed on my iPad.

Optimistic, Woodbury, Ct.
This is a local example of someone being overly optimistic about what one person can accomplish with little money and only so many hours in a day. It’s amazing how much one person can do, but not surprising that he died before he was able to finish.

Sunny Delight © Steven Willard
I had to turn the car around for this. It reminded me of riding my bike down sun-dappled streets as a kid.

My barber, Woodbury, Ct ©Steven Willard
I think barbers, like bartenders, must see just about everything. I didn’t know the guy getting the Mohawk haircut, but Tony has been cutting his hair for a few years. Turns out he’s a substitute teacher. Times have changed.
