Moore Cove Falls
Photography
Moore Cove Falls is a 50ft (15.25m) waterfall in the Pisgah National Forest near Brevard, North Carolina. The falls flow over an overhanging bluff that allows visitors to walk behind the falls. During my visit in mid-October, Moore Creek had dried to just more than a trickle. Nonetheless, the view was still quite beautiful.

Linville Gorge, North Carolina
PhotographyTo reach the top of Hawksbill Mountain, you must accomplish a 50-minute moderate to strenuous hike from the service road. As you yield the trail to hikers on their way down, you often hear ‘it’s worth the effort’. And indeed, once you complete your ascent, you are awarded with a spectacular view of Linville Gorge.
Taken in mid-October, the peak fall foliage was still a week or so away. Even with some moderate foliage color, this image seemed to work better in monochrome.

Crabtree Falls, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina
PhotographyDetailed composition of the base of the 60 ft. (18.3 meters) tall Crabtree Falls, off the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. Earlier this month, I tent camped at the Crabtree Falls campground the night before making the strenuous 3 mile (4.8 kilometer) loop hike down to the falls and back the following day.
