Alexander R. Lawton was a Brigadier-General in the Confederate Army, he died in 1896 from a stroke. His monument in Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, Georgia, features Jesus Christ at Heaven’s Gate.

An angel hovers over the grave of Marie Taliaferro, who died at the age of 45, buried at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA. Her husband, Charles Champe Taliaferro, was a sergeant in the Confederate Army. He is buried in Graham Cemetery in Orange, Va.
