Summer has passed us by, autumn is shedding her brilliant cloak and I wander along a pathway that leads to the coming winter.

On my recent trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota I had the opportunity to go up to the work site at the Crazy Horse Memorial. At this time, the most complete feature of the sculpture is the face. work is on going on the pointing hand and it will be several generations before the memorial is completed. When it is finished, it will stand as the largest sculpture on the planet.

There’s a tradition along the Lakewalk in Duluth where people leave a lock on one of the wooden posts by Lake Superior. And, no, there is no ice on the lake now, this was taken in April.

I encountered this church along a quiet, Wisconsin back road. It seemed so forlorn and abandoned, looking for a new congregation.
