On my recent outing for #optoutside, I visited Banning State Park in northern Minnesota.  This is part of a structure that served those who worked in the rock quarry.  The clouds were a nice bonus and added a bit of extra drama to the image.

It bothers me that there are people who think any blank space can be their personal bill board.  Such lack of respect for buildings, especially historical sites, is hard for me to comprehend.

Another subject I’ve driven by many times and finally stopped to photograph.  This is one of the reasons I love escaping the freeway and wandering down two lane backroads, you just never know what’s hiding on an abandoned property.

For several years I’ve been driving past this old shed and on this snowy October day finally stopped and photographed it.  As I waded through the knee deep snow I chastised myself for not doing this before we had an early winter storm.  But, it you don’t go, you don’t get the shot.

DCF 1.0

Once again I travel back in time as I await the final piece to my new computer. (which I was informed today was on its way) I discovered this gem from a cruise I was on in late 2004.  A simple moment shared between generations, with an ice cream cone and a view out the window of the ship.

Hard and Soft

An image captured as she was taking break between shots.  Although we only worked together once, I admired her willingness to endure the cold autumn water temperatures of Lake Superior while posing nude.  Some very beautiful images were created that afternoon.
